Contribution Regulations of the Student Body

Based on § 81 para. 1, 79 para. 2 in conjunction with § 3 para. 2 Thuringian Higher Education Act (ThürHG) in the version of 10.05.2018 (GVBl. p. 149), the student body of the Ilmenau University of Technology enacts the following contribution regulations by ballot from 29.05. to 02.06.2017. The rector has approved the contribution rules in a letter dated 06.06.2018.

§ 1 – Obligation to contribute

  1. All enrolled students of the Ilmenau University of Technology are subject to the contribution obligation.

  2. The fee is payable for one semester at a time and is collected free of charge by the university upon enrollment or re-registration.

§ 2 – Amount of contribution

The amount of the semester fee is 10,00 EUR.

§ 3 – Use of contributions

The contributions according to § 2 are available to the Student Council for the fulfillment of its statutory tasks. The exact use of the funds and their administration is regulated by the financial regulations of the Student Council.

§ 4 – Exemption from the contribution

  1. The fee cannot be waived, reduced or deferred. Termination of membership at the University during the current semester does not entitle the student to a full or pro-rata refund of the fee paid for the semester.

  2. Only students on leave of absence can be exempted from the obligation to pay contributions. Exemption from the obligation to pay fees is only granted for the future. Applications for exemption must be submitted no later than the day before the start of the semester.

  3. Exmatriculation before the beginning of the semester for which the fee has already been paid entitles the student to claim the fee back. The application for refund must be submitted no later than one month after the beginning of the semester.

§ 5 – Entry into force

The First Amendment to the Fee Regulations of the Student Body of Ilmenau University of Technology shall enter into force on the day following its publication in the University’s official gazette.
